Wayne State University PRSSA

As former president of the Wayne State University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), I acted as the lead project manager and liaison for all chapter initiatives and led six executive board members and over 70 general members.

Before that role, I was the chapter’s VP of Professional Programming. In that role, I planned and facilitated all agency and business tours, panels and events for general PRSSA members.

I was in PRSSA all four years of college, and it turned into more than just a student org but a network of reliable young professionals and great friends advancing careers together.

WSU PRSSA Rebrand

The fall 2020 semester brought a lot of uncertainty for students. I took this as an opportunity to engage our membership online by rebranding PRSSA’s online presence.

Our PRSSA Chapter was one of the few chapters in the nation to be selected to host a District Conference in the 2019-2020 school year. We planned to bring students and professionals together on Saturday, April 25, 2020, to learn about Detroit’s robust public relations industry and network.

After COVID-19 caused Wayne State University to close campus for large events, I wrote, edited and executed a communication plan to alert sponsors, attendees, and chapter members that our 2020 District Conference and programs for March and April were canceled.
